Raptors of the Tibetan Plateau
Above 4,000 meters, where the air thins and the sky dominates the landscape, a community of raptors has evolved to become the apex predators of the world's highest ecosystem. This exhibition celebrates the majesty of Himalayan vultures, golden eagles, and saker falcons.
The Tibetan Plateau, often called the 'Roof of the World,' presents extreme challenges for survival: thin air, fierce winds, scarce food, and temperatures that plunge below -40°C in winter. Yet this harsh landscape supports a remarkable community of raptors adapted to thrive where few other animals can survive.
“On a thermal column, the Himalayan Griffon rises without a wingbeat, commanding the sky above the prayer flags.”
